Garrett Hanlon · founder of Nixxon

10 years in media production taught me the power behind how great content actually works.

I spent that decade standing next to the people who make the content, on sets and in edit bays for Disney, HubSpot, Marvel, Google, Sony, NFL Films, Notion, and Pavilion. Being in those rooms is where I learned why content matters and what separates the work people finish from the work they scroll past.

PART ONE
Earning attention
PART TWO
Positioning you as the expert once you have it

The tools changed when I moved from film sets and live productions to LinkedIn. The job of earning someone's attention didn't. A visual hook, a written hook, an auditory hook. The mechanics stay the same and only the format shifts, from video to written content.

How I got here

I started in media production more than ten years ago. My first real job was shooting and filming weddings, which I did for about three years. You get one chance at every moment, and the client cares about that footage more than almost anything else they buy.

Around year three, someone who knew I shot weddings put my name forward for a set. I ended up working that job and kept getting invited back for films and television across the Disney and Marvel umbrella.

In 2022 I took my first leadership role as Production Director at Southside Church, a nonprofit, where I grew the team from 12 people to 58. I was proud of that team. I still left, because close friends were building something in tech and asked me to come on as lead editor. Going from ministry to a startup was a real jump and it stretched me in the right ways.

That decision put me in rooms with the minds behind the content we created at HubSpot, Google, Notion, Calendly, Sony, and Pavilion, and it moved me from lead editor to head of content in nine months. When AMP Creative shifted toward the CEO's strength in sales coaching and training, and away from media production, Nixxon was born. One operator giving executives the same caliber of work those brands were paying full teams for.

What you're probably wondering

“Will it actually sound like me?”

Everything starts from recorded conversations with you, using your stories and your opinions. The first two weeks are spent calibrating your voice and point of view, and you approve every post before it publishes. If a draft misses the mark, we rework it until you're satisfied.

“I've been burned by an agency before.”

You work directly with me. I write the posts myself, which is why I keep the client list short. Your account is never handed to a junior writer or outsourced to an LLM.

“Can you actually prove any of this?”

Every number on this site can be sourced on request, if it isn't already stated in the case studies. On a call I'll walk you through the accounts, including what I learned from engagements that ended early. What I won't share is client information. I'm a ghostwriter, and that stays confidential.

“My industry is too technical for a ghostwriter.”

I've written for CEOs, CROs, CFOs, founders, agency owners, and executive leadership coaches. You bring the expertise to the call. My job is to structure that expertise so people can digest it, and to make sure your messaging creates clarity and gets you in front of the right people.
